Meeting up is the new crack

It seems that since last year and the rise and rise of blogging in Birmingham (or, the discovery that there’s actually people blogging in Birmingham) the new thing to do is to have meetups. Everything has a meetup these days. Wanna knit, go for it. Wanna meet other bloggers, artists, people to discuss things with, people to read with or people to hack and talk tech with? Well, you can! And there’s so many other meetups!

At first I thought all of this was great! You can finally meet other like-minded people in a non-threatening environment. It still is great, but now I wanna see it taken further. Now that you know you can get 30 or so like-minded people in a room what can you do with them?

I’m really eager to see what will come of these meets as there’s so much potential!
